Bangchak Group Partners Nakornthon Hospital to Break Cycle of Refrying Oil Collecting Used Cooking Oil through "Fry to Fly" Initiative for SAF Production

Additionally, Bangchak Group and Nakornthon Hospital are jointly campaigning to encourage hospital staff and surrounding communities to avoid reusing and not disposing of used cooking oil, promoting better health and environmental stewardship. The initiative also includes educational outreach on the dangers of polar compounds found in reused oil, which are linked to serious health conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, and cancer. Thailand sees an increase of 400 new cancer cases per day (Data from the National Cancer Institute). This cooperation helps reduce the burden on human resources, healthcare budgets, and treatment time.

BSGF is committed to advancing the development and production of SAF from used cooking oil through the Fry to Fly initiative, which transforms waste into clean energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and creates tangible value within the circular economy. Meanwhile, BFPL continues its mission of responsible fuel logistics by supporting the collection and transport of used oil to SAF production facilities in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. This partnership reflects the private sector's role in driving the circular economy while safeguarding the planet and public health for a sustainable future.
