Hankook Tire has received top marks in Auto Bild's latest tire tests, with both its iON evo and Ventus evo models earning the prestigious 'Exemplary' rating. Recognised for their outstanding performance in key areas such as braking, handling, and safety, the results reinforce Hankook's commitment to innovation and product excellence in both electric vehicle (EV) and ultra-high-performance segments.
The recognition from one of Europe's most influential automotive publications is a respected benchmark in automotive performance. Tested alongside global tire brands, the iON evo emerged as the test winner, ranking first in handling and braking on both wet and dry surfaces. The evaluation, conducted using a Hyundai Kona EV (215/55R18), covered 13 performance areas including braking, rolling resistance, noise, and handling.
This is the third consecutive year Hankook has led Auto Bild's EV tire test, following the success of the original iON evo in 2023 and iON evo SUV in 2024. Auto Bild praised the iON evo for its "outstanding hydroplaning resistance and braking performance on wet surfaces, while also offering excellent driving dynamics and quietness."
Mr. Kahoon Kim, Managing Director of Hankook Tire Thailand, said: "This recognition from one of Europe's most trusted automotive publications reflects our dedication to tire innovation and safety. We're proud to see our iON and Ventus lines perform at the highest global level, and we're committed to bringing the same standard of excellence to drivers in Thailand."
In the UHP category, the Ventus evo was tested against 20 global competitors on a BMW 1 Series (225/40R18). It was recognised for best-in-class braking on wet surfaces and ranked first in dry handling. Auto Bild commented, "Ventus evo impressed with its dynamic driving performance and stellar braking power across all driving conditions."
These results further strengthen Hankook Tire's position in Thailand, where it continues to offer advanced tire solutions tailored to evolving mobility needs. The iON series, developed specifically for electric vehicles, has garnered strong local recognition for its performance and efficiency. Available models in Thailand include the iON evo and iON evo AS for high-performance EV driving, and the iON GT, optimised for mileage. The iON ST AS will launch in Thailand soon.
Although the Ventus evo is not yet available locally, its predecessor—the Ventus S1 evo3—continues to gain popularity in Thailand's premium segment due to its reliable performance and durability.
Hankook Tire's commitment to innovation and quality has earned the trust of global automakers. The brand is an original equipment (OE) supplier for leading names, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, and Tesla, reinforcing its reputation for safety, durability, and driving excellence.
