A New Era of Learning: Canva and OBEC Bring Creativity and Innovation to Every Thai Classroom

Formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the partnership will, over the next three years, help accelerate Thailand's digital learning goals in line with OBEC's vision to make education more inclusive, engaging, and future-ready. Together, Canva and OBEC will empower teachers with AI-powered digital tools to design vibrant, meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, reduce administrative workload, and inspire more efficient and creative teaching. The collaboration will also encourage students to embrace new ways of learning, develop creative expression, visual communication, and design skills that nurture confidence and build the 21st-century competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. At OBEC, we're deeply committed to lifting the quality of education in Thailand through the power of modern digital technology," said Dr. Phuriwat Khamaikawin, Director of the Bureau of Academic Affairs and Educational Standards, The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). "This collaboration with Canva is an exciting milestone. It opens up free access to world-class creative tools for more than six million teachers, students, and OBEC staff, tools that can be used right away in the classroom. With Canva Education, teachers can create lessons that are more engaging and intuitive, while students gain hands-on learning experiences that build essential digital, creative, and presentation skills. These are the capabilities young people need to thrive in today's world. We're confident this partnership will help strengthen a future-ready learning ecosystem for schools across Thailand."

"At Canva, our mission has always been to democratize design and empower everyone to communicate their ideas visually," said Pakapol Thangtongchin, Country Manager, Canva Thailand. "Visual communication is no longer a nice-to-have; it's a critical skill for Thailand's next generation of innovators, creators, and leaders. Through this partnership, we're empowering over 6 million teachers and students with creative tools that make learning more engaging, collaborative, and impactful. As we roll out nationwide access to Canva Education across all 245 educational districts in January 2026, we're also investing in comprehensive training for district education officers and teachers, ensuring Thailand's educators are equipped to inspire creativity, confidence, and digital excellence in every classroom."

Canva Education provides access to thousands of education-specific templates, real-time collaboration powered by AI, intuitive content planning tools, and seamless integrations with platforms such as Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams. Built with safety and accessibility at its core, the platform ensures a secure, age-appropriate digital environment where teachers and students can learn, create, and collaborate with confidence.

Canva and OBEC are advancing a series of initiatives and projects designed to embed digital creativity deeply within Thailand's education system. Beginning in November 2025, Canva will conduct intensive training sessions for official IT personnel nationwide to prepare for the rollout of Canva across educational service areas and affiliated schools. In addition, more than 400 OBEC central office staff members will receive training to strengthen their skills in using Canva effectively in their work.

In December, nationwide teacher training sessions will be organized to introduce the use of Canva in classrooms, helping to make lessons more engaging, interactive, and hands-on for students.

Looking ahead to 2026, Canva and OBEC plan to continue expanding their collaboration through a range of programs, including the development of digital teaching master trainers, skill enhancement courses in design and communication for students, and the Canva Innovative School project, which aims to establish model schools for innovation-driven learning.
