Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL), in partnership with MUFG, hosted the 13th edition of the "Krungsri-MUFG Business Matching Fair 2026," — a platform connecting Thai and Japanese business networks while supporting trade and investment cooperation. This year, the event breaks new ground by opening a direct channel for Japanese entrepreneurs to engage with Thai consumers, through participation as part of NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK 2026, a comprehensive Japan expo showcasing products, services, culture, lifestyle from Japan. The initiative creates valuable market-testing opportunities and lays the foundation for sustainable growth in the Thai market.
Mr. Kohei Omori, Krungsri Head of Japanese Corporate Banking, said: "Krungsri is committed to serving as a bridge connecting business opportunities between Thailand and Japan, combining our deep expertise in Thai market with the strength of MUFG's global network to continuously expand opportunities for trade, investment, and collaboration. Over more than a decade since first co-hosting the business matching initiative with MUFG in 2013, we have helped connect and match over 3,000 business matches, reflecting the confidence entrepreneurs place in us, and of the strong potential within the Thai-Japanese business network and the broader partnership between our two countries."
"This year, we aim to elevate the value of business matching beyond simply creating opportunities through business-to-business meetings and negotiations. By giving Japanese entrepreneurs participating in the business matching the opportunity to also join NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK 2026, they can showcase their products and services directly to Thai consumers — while gathering valuable insights into market behavior and demand, and testing real consumer response to their offerings. This gives entrepreneurs both the chance to expand their business networks and the data-driven insights needed to effectively grow their business in Thailand," Mr. Omori added.
This year's Krungsri-MUFG Business Matching Fair 2026 has drawn strong interest from participants, comprising approximately 42 companies from Japan and 18 companies from Thailand, covering a range of sectors including food and beverages, restaurants, beauty, healthcare and medical services, apparel and fashion, consumer products and tourism-related businesses such as hotels, department stores, outlets, airlines and local authorities. The participating Japanese companies also showcased their products and services at NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK 2026, a major event celebrating Japanese culture, products and experiences, recently held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
With the strong collaboration between Krungsri and MUFG, the Krungsri-MUFG Business Matching Fair 2026 successfully achieved its objectives, reflecting Japanese businesses' growing interest in the Thai market and serving as another key platform for driving shared growth between Thailand and Japan.
