Red Hot Jazz at The Living Room

From now until the end of March, The Living Room, Bangkok’s premium live jazz venue invites you to experience unforgettable performances from top international stars. Due to popular demand, Pucci Amanda Jhones, affectionately known as “New York’s Jazz Diva”, will play four additional nights at The Living Room on January 30 - February 2 and 6 - 9 when she will perform with jazz sensation, The Randy Cannon Group. Don’t miss your last chance to hear her highly original voice which has delighted audiences from Manhattan to LA, Las Vegas, Switzerland, Japan and Malaysia. From February 13 - 16 and 20 - 23, the extraordinary jazz singer Cherryl Hayes will perform with The Randy Cannon Group. Cherryl is a highly accomplished, vibrant jazz vocalist with an enchanting voice and sophisticated style. A skilled interpreter of the jazz greats including Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald, Cherryl’s commanding stage presence and versatility makes her a joy to watch. Cherryl has performed in the United States, Europe, and Asia. She currently teaches jazz vocals to music students at Bangkok’s renowned Mahidol University. See her performance at The Living Room and discover why she had the honor to sing for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on more than ten occasions. The Randy Cannon Group perform from 21.15 hrs - midnight on Wednesday - Sunday featuring Randy on piano and his brother, the internationally acclaimed trumpeter, Steven Cannon. Randy Canon was described as “a pianist of formidable gifts and consistently galvanizing rhythmic sensitivity” by jazz critic Leonard Feather of the Los Angeles Times. The masterful pianist’s mesmerizing playing is complemented by Erik Hargrove on drums, a talented American musician who toured the world with the late great James Brown, and by Thailand’s leading bass player, Therdsak Wongvichien. The Steve Cannon Band will give an outstanding performance every Monday and Tuesday from 21.15 hrs – midnight. A veteran of the trumpet, Steve Cannon is an incredibly versatile player with an unmistakable sound and style. He has supported an impressive list of recording artists including David Sanborn, Mary Wilson and the Supremes, and The Temptations. Steve was also invited to perform at His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 80th birthday celebration. At The Living Room, Steve’s soulful sound will be enhanced by the exceptional musicianship of Saksri Vongdharadon on piano, Therdsak Wongvichien on bass, and Kridsana Putpring on drums. Jazz lovers can also see the Tim Hedges Jazz Trio at the spectacular Sunday Jazzy Brunch and Tim Hedges piano solo Monday to Saturday from 18.00 – 20.45 hrs. Pianist Tim is renowned for his inspirational performances and always delights the audience. His career stretches back to 1986 and has seen him play around the world with jazz stars such as Lewis Billson and John Herd. Legendary English clarinetist, Aker Bilk, also hosted Tim on his radio show. Over the years, his trios have featured some of the finest handpicked international musicians.
