Porsche - Sportscar Together Day in Bangkok

Join us on July 14, 2018 for Southeast Asia's largest gathering of Porsche fans for the brand's 70th anniversary
Thailand. The sights: hundreds of Porsche cars past and present. The sounds: an orchestra of engines revving to the redline, accompanied by tyres squealing their way to the limits of physics. And, of course, this being gastronomical Thailand, the smells: a heady aroma of food, glorious food.
In celebration of 70 years of Porsche sports cars, the carmaker invites members of the public to join the festivities at its Sportscar Together Day (SCTD) at the Show DC Oasis Arena in central Bangkok on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 1pm till midnight.
By day, SCTD is set to gear itself towards family-friendly activities, with a Porsche Virtual Reality experience and E-Performance showcase, Kids Driving School and hot-lap rides in the 918 Spyder. As part of a global tribute tour, the 919 Hybrid makes a special stop-over at SCTD to take a bow in front of its fans in Thailand. For nour-ishment, the Porsche Curves Cafe, a typical German beer garden and food stalls set up throughout the venue will serve up the best of German and of local cuisine. As night falls, the atmosphere will become more pumped up with the Porsche by Night festival, with live DJ sets and other celebrity performances.
Another 200-plus privately owned vehicles, arriving from across Thailand and in con-voys from Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore, are also expected to make their appearance. They will join "Das Treffen", Southeast Asia's biggest Porsche re-union established to rival the established meets in the US, Europe and Australasia.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia one-make sports car racing series will take place at Bangsaen during the same weekend, with shuttles and a live broadcast connecting both venues.

About 70 Years of Porsche Sports Cars
Following the opening of the "70 Years Porsche Sports Cars" special exhibition open-ing in Stuttgart on June 8, 2018, the festival in Bangkok will be the latest in a series of high-powered events organised worldwide by Porsche as a celebratory fete of its glo-rious 70-year history.
It all began on June 8, 1948, when the first Porsche prototype with chassis number 356-001 received its German roadworthiness permit, marking the birth of a brand that is now known for not only its sporty driving experience, but as a byword for innova-tion, design and functionality.
If the Porsche 356 "No. 1" roadster - as that ground-breaking mid-engined, lattice tube-framed vehicle was christened - signified the genesis of a brand, the foundation of the company's success would have been cemented by the 1963 introduction of the universally loved Porsche 911. It was the first sports car that combined sporting flair with everyday practicality, a winning formula that attracted more than a million buyers from across the globe.
Today, Porsche is the industry's most profitable automotive manufacturer, with a line-up that encompasses five lines: 911, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and 718 Box-ster/Cayman. Yet, despite their diverse strengths, one thing draws the models to-gether: they are all sports cars at heart.
It is with this philosophy that Porsche embraces the next 70 years, as it tackles – and welcomes – the future of mobility: electrification. Already the manufacturer has an-nounced its first fully electric sports car, the Taycan. It is an astonishing maiden ven-ture: a total system output of over 600 hp that sends the car to 100 km/h in well under 3.5 seconds.
Porsche intends to invest more than six billion euro in electromobility by 2022 – here's looking forward to the fruit of that endeavour.
