KBank shakes the overseas travel market by launching the JOURNEY Card - a lifestyle debit card with the concept: MAXIMIZE YOUR JOURNEY. The latest K-Debit Card goes above and beyond by boasting the best exchange rate with the "Best Rate Ever!" campaign for currency conversion and international payment, beating the rates offered by every other bank and money changer, and without a 2.5-percent currency conversion charge, for every currency. Using this card, customers don't have to top-up or exchange money via an application. They can also use this card at home. The JOURNEY Card features cool designs in sync with the jetset mood. The card also offers comprehensive privileges for customers from travel planning to journey's end. In a special offer, customers applying for the card during 2019 are granted access to the airports' Miracle Lounge, limited to three visits/year. KBank aims to have 300,000 card applicants within one year, with spending at 6 billion Baht, expanding the K-Debit Card customer base to 14 million cards by the end of 2019.

According to KASIKORN RESEARCH CENTER, the number of Thai outbound tourists is expected to reach 11 million in 2019, rising 7.4 percent over the previous year, with total spending of approximately 390 billion Baht. This hike is driven by the stronger Baht, attractive promotional campaigns and extension of flight routes to various new destinations for year-round travel. The high seasons of Thai holidaymakers are March-May and October-December, when there are several long public holidays and school vacations.
Mr. Patchara said that the JOURNEY Card is a new debit card for use in Thailand and foreign countries. The card's concept of "MAXIMIZE YOUR JOURNEY" is based on the special offer of exchange rates to create a phenomenal "Best Rate Ever!" that beats all rates of other banks and currency exchange shops. JOURNEY Cardholders will enjoy shopping anywhere around the world with competitive rates and without the 2.5-percent currency conversion fee. Using this card, travelers do not have to top up or make currency exchange via an application. Other privileges include special rates, plus easy and convenient exchange by only showing the card at one of the more than 1,000 foreign exchange booths of KBank across Thailand, as well as the right to use the Miracle Lounge three times a year, granted to those who apply for the card within 2019.
