Robinson Department Store PLC announces change in its senior managemetn.

Bangkok--June 18--Robinson Department Store Khun Precha Vejsupapron, the Vice Chairman of the Executive Board, and Khun Phisudhi Pihakendr, the Vice Chairman of the Executive Board and President, resigned from their executive and board positions of the Company to allow Dr.Kanok Wongtragen, who has been acting as the Company's Chief Operating Officer, to assume the position of President of the Company. Dr.Kanok Wongtragan joined the executive team approximately four months ago to assits the Company in adapting to the economic environment in Thailand after the start of the currency crisis. Khun Phisudhi acknowledged that during the four months that Dr.Kanok has been with the Company, mangement policy and direction have been clearly defined. "From my assessment, the company needs a new captain to steer in through this period of economic crisis in Thailand. The Company needs an executive who is decisive, systematic and knowledgeable to ensure that Robinson adjusts to the current economic environment. Khun Preecha and I, therefore, decided to resign to allow Dr.Kanok full rein over management decision." Khun Precha added that Robinson is in need of not only a new capable executive, but also a team of young, energetic officers with the energy, speed and determination to work together towards the goal of making Robinson the best department store in Thailand. The other top exceutives, Khun Taveevat Tatiyamaneekul, the Chairman, and Khun Manit Udomkoonatham, the Chief Executive Officer, will remain in active executive positions and have authorized Dr.Kanok to establish the Company policy and take full control of day-to-day management.
