BT consortium wins fixed and mobile licences in Singapore

Bangkok--Apr 24--BT BT (British Telecom), in a consortium comprising Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) of Japan, Singapore Technologies Telemedia, and Singapore Power, yesterday (April 23) was awarded a fixed and a mobile telecommunication licence by the Singapore government. Under the terms of the licence, the company will begin services on April 1, 2000. Sir Peter Bonfield, BT's Chief Executive, said: "BT is delighted with the news. PTTEP Continues Providing Support to Flood-Affected Communities in Songkhla Province
