Cementhai Chemicals selected Aspen Technology to develop e-Supply Chain to enhance competitiveness

Bangkok--Feb 23--Cementhai Siam Polyolefins Co., Ltd. (SPO), a member of the Cementhai Chemicals Group, has selected Aspen Technology Inc. USA to provide an e-Supply Chain software aiming to enhance cost position and heighten its competitiveness in the market place. Mr. Cholanat Yanaranop, Managing Director of SPO, revealed that the company has embarked on e-Supply Chain, a computer-based system that manages information throughout the supply chain process that is from the raw materials until final delivery of finished products to end customers. SPO has selected Aspen Technology, a leader in the e-Supply Chain software which are widely adopted by many world class processing and petrochemical companies to develop and implement the system at the production sites in Rayong. This e-Supply Chain system will effectively analyze and enable decision making based on the congregated information on sales plan, customer requirement forecast and production plan. "This system would help the company manage its production cost more efficiently and bring customer needs into the production decision process, therefore enabling greater customer satisfaction. This, consequently, increases the company's competitive capability" Mr. Cholanat said. SPO is one of the leading ASEAN producers of polyolefin products, namely polyethylene and polypropylene plastic resins. Its annual production capacity will increase to 1,000,000 metric tons by the year-end with production lines based in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong. End. -SS-
