BEIJING: CNOOC said they have received an offer to acquire Australian Gas Reserves. The company reported they will outlay US$320 million to purchase an approximate 5% interest in the upstream reserves of Australia's North West Shelf Gas Project.

SAN FRANCISCO: An alliance between YesAsia.com and Kingstone, the largest bookstore chain in Taiwan will be used to promote Chinese books to overseas Chinese communities, a media release said. "Partners can easily upload products to YesAsia.com, effectively reaching the company's 150,000 customers, and sell their books via this new channel," said Albert Wong, YesAsia.com's IT and Operation Director.

ZURICH: The Board of Directors at Centerpulse has named Johannes Randegger as Lead Director, the company reported today. A media release said the primary function of Lead Director was to help avoid any interest conflicts that may result through the dual functions of the company's Chairman and CEO, Max Link.


ZURICH: Mike McCormick was appointed President of the Spine-Tech Division at Centerpulse, the company announced today. A media release said the previous manager of Spine-Tech, Dennis Wallach, will specialise in the sale of Centerpulse's Cardiac and Vascular Divisions.
