AMD delivers 32-bit digital entertainment capabilities today with ability for simplified migration to the power of 64 bits
AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced support for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 on AMD Athlon 64 processors based on AMD64 technology. Desktop and mobile systems based on AMD processors provide the performance users need to enjoy digital entertainment according to their taste, schedule and location. AMD64 technology enables immersive audio and video features for cinematic computing. Cinematic computing is an evolutionary journey toward a destination where mind-blowing 3-D games reach a new level of realism, and experiencing digital media is quick, effortless, and real-time.
Using AMD Athlon processor-based PCs with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004, consumers can enjoy live television, personal video recording, music, photos, videos, radio and DVDs from the Media Center PC, all accessible with a simple remote control. Customers will be able to shift television schedules, customize a music library, or select from multiple entertainment sources from the familiar simplicity of the Windows operating system.
