Lufthansa to launch double daily services to Bangkok Four more weekly flights from 28 March 2004

Press Releases »

Bangkok--Dec 19--MDK Consultants(Thailand) Lufthansa German Airlines announced today that it will add four weekly flight services between Frankfurt and Bangkok and onwards to Kuala Lumpur, starting March 28, 2004. These new flights will enable Lufthansa to step up its services from its existing ten weekly flights to double daily connections between Bangkok and Frankfurt. All flights will be operated with Boeing 747-400 aircraft. "We are delighted with the flexibility and more choices these additional flight services will bring to our customers," said Wolfgang Schmidt, General Manager Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Mr. Schmidt added, "Thailand is seeing a resurgence of confidence with a growing economy and increase in business opportunities and development across a wide range of industries. The country's tourism in particular is expected to continue its steady growth with rising visitor numbers." With the additional flights, Lufthansa passengers will enjoy a brand new flight connection between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur for the first time. Bangkok will be served with double daily flights from Frankfurt: seven of which will continue from Bangkok to Manila, three to Ho Chi Minh City, and four to Kuala Lumpur. Within Lufthansa's Asia-Pacific network, Bangkok therefore offers the most connections to passengers to travel to and from three other major cities in the region. Commenting on the region's strong recovery, Uwe Mueller, Lufthansa's Vice President, Asia & Pacific said," The additional Lufthansa flights also reflect the airline's recognition that Asia-Pacific is back to a dynamic growth path again. This move will further strengthen our position as the leading European carrier offering the most frequencies with 123 weekly flights between Asia-Pacific and Europe." Lufthansa German Airlines is a world's leading international airline. As a founding member of Star Alliance, Lufthansa has developed one of the most comprehensive alliance networks in the industry, with partnerships serving all six continents. End. -RK-
