Otis Wins US $11 Million in Contracts for Major Norway Hospital and One of Sweden's Largest Shopping Malls

Otis, a unit of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX), was awarded
contracts to supply and install 120 Gen2(TM) machine-roomless elevators,
escalators and Trav-O-Lator(R) moving walkways for expansions to a major
hospital in Norway and to one of the largest shopping malls in Sweden.

In Norway, Otis will provide 38 units -- including 10 Gen2 elevators and
24 bed lifts -- for the Nye Ahus Hospital, a university hospital under
construction at Lorenskog outside Oslo. Ahus (short for Akershus University)
Hospital is a Norwegian Health Authority facility owned by the state. The 1.47
million-square-foot (137,000-square-meter) expansion, scheduled for completion
in October 2008, will allow the hospital to provide services to 340,000 people
in Akershus and North Oslo.
In Sweden, Otis will provide 82 units -- consisting of 52 Gen2 elevators,
26 escalators and four Trav-O-Lator moving walkways -- to the Skarholmen
Centrum shopping mall. The contract includes an option for Otis to supply 26
more escalators and 19 more Gen2 elevators. Skarholmen Centrum, originally
built in the 1960s, will expand retail floor space from 409,000 square feet
(38,000 square meters) to more than 645,000 square feet (60,000 square meters),
making it among the largest shopping centers in Sweden when completed in 2008.
