-- Extensive Hotel Allocation Enables Agents to Deliver on Their Travellers’ Requirements While Earning Guaranteed Commission --
Galileo International and Gulliver’s Travel Associates (gta), both leading global travel services companies and subsidiaries of Cendant Corporation (NYSE:CD), are delighted to announce that it is able to offer unrivalled hotel accommodation for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. The content, made available via Galileo Leisure and gta RBS utilises hotel allocations negotiated specifically for the event by Gullivers Travel Associates (gta). With just two weeks to go before the opening kick-off, 85% of all hotel room inventory has been booked.
By securing hotel accommodation in all locations where matches are being played, travellers can book all their hotel requirements in one place via their Galileo or gta RBS connected travel agency. In addition to the central locations, agents have access to a large number of rooms in nearby cities that are within easy commuting distance of match venues. This flexibility in room location provides fans with an opportunity to find a hotel that meets their budget.
Although participating teams and locations of second stage matches are still to be decided, Galileo Leisure and gta will enable fans to book 1st round hotels now and 2nd stage hotels immediately once they know who their respective teams are going to play and ultimately where the matches will take place in Germany.
“gta has shown strong foresight in negotiating and contracting such a wide range of hotels in preparation for the World Cup,” said Enrico Bisello, Director of Product Management, Asia, Cendant TDS. “We are pleased to provide our Galileo agents with access to this hotel content via a single tool and with guaranteed commission.”
