President of Tralliance Corporation and The .travel Registry to talk with consumers THETRADESHOW (Travel Retailing and Destination Expo) partners are happy to announce that Ron Andruff, president of Tralliance Corporation and The .travel Registry will be speaking on Sept. 12, 2006 at 3p.m. on THESHOWSTAGE in Orlando. THESHOWSTAGE is located to the left of the THETRADESHOW floor. Andruff will educate attendees on utilizing .travel to reach the world, accessing the benefits of the .travel top-level Internet domain and expanding thier global presence in today's online travel marketplace. As president of Tralliance, Ronald Andruff spearheaded the global .travel initiative during its two-year evolution from concept to reality. The travel industry's exclusive .travel Internet domain was confirmed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) under his leadership, and since has been embraced with enthusiasm by the global travel industry. Tens of thousands of .travel domain names have been registered to date, with countries like Canada and Egypt utilizing the domain in their high-profile marketing efforts. A former NGO delegate to the United Nations' Association for World Education and a current member of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), Andruff has become a major figure in the travel industry. He has been a featured speaker at key events such as the 2006 World Travel Market, ITB Berlin, PATA Annual Conference and the 30th IRU World Congress in Dubai. A Canadian national and former professional hockey player, Andruff currently serves on the board of directors of the Waterbor Burn & Cancer Foundation in New York City. He is a frequent speaker at major travel trade conferences and travels more than 150 days a year. The .travel top level domain is designed to serve the smallest to the largest players in the global travel and tourism industry by developing products and services that promote the efficiencies and convenience of e-commerce for all bona fide travel companies and tourism organizations on the Internet. Since the official launch of .travel in January, the global travel industry has responded with enthusiasm to its own exclusive Internet space. Tens of thousands of .travel domain names have been registered so far, expanding the virtual catalog of products and services currently represented in the .travel directory. Many new registrants have recognized the value of utilizing .travel as a tool to enhance and market their tourism offerings to the global online community, and are using the domain in high-profile marketing efforts to improve Internet identity, create advanced distribution channels and establish a stronger level of trust with travel consumers. THETRADESHOW will take place the second week of September every year and will be held in Orlando (Sept. 10-12, 2006) in even years and Las Vegas (Sept. 9-11, 2007) in odd years.
