For the eighth time in eighteen years, travel agents, tour operators and destination management companies in the Asia Pacific region have voted United Airlines the “Best North American Airline”. United received the award at the 18th TTG Travel Awards 2007 October 25 in Bangkok.
“We are grateful that the travel industry has again recognized our commitment to efficiently connecting Asia Pacific with North America,” said Mark Schwab, United Airlines’ vice president, Pacific. “The award comes at a time when United has announced exciting upgrades to our international premium travel experience across all of the airline’s international routes.”
In 2008, United will also enhance connectivity with Asia with the introduction of a daily, nonstop service between Guangzhou and San Francisco. United will be the first carrier to offer nonstop service between this city pair.
At the TTG Awards ceremony in Bangkok, United’s general manager for Thailand, Mr Eric Wilson, received the award on behalf of United Airlines, which is the largest transpacific passenger carrier.
United serves 13 Asia Pacific cities including Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Melbourne, Nagoya, Osaka, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Taipei and Tokyo. Through the Star Alliance network, United customers also have access to virtually any destination in the region.
