Microsoft (Thailand) Limited is encouraging more Thai consumers - specifically home users and students - to enjoy the genuine Microsoft user experience, by making the Home and Student edition of the Microsoft Office 2007 package available in Thailand at a reduced price of 3,250 baht - approximately 40% lower than that of the original price.
As part of Microsoft’s Unlimited Potential initiative, which aims to enhance the availability and affordability of software for the Thai market, Microsoft (Thailand) Ltd. first launched a promotion on Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 at the beginning of this year, which lasted for four months and was well received by consumers.
Following this success, Microsoft is now offering the product at a permanently discounted rate to home users and students in Thailand who are seeking basic computer functionality from core Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel Microsoft Office PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office OneNote.
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 cannot be used for business purposes, however each copy sold under the promotion will come with one individual software license that may be used on up to 3 different machines, provided that each computer belongs to the same household. The promotional price is available as of now, with the reduced price due to remain unchanged for the future.
“Our decision to offer Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 at a special price is evidence of Microsoft’s commitment to Thai consumers and we are continually striving to help our customers find the right software for them,” said Patama Chantaruck, Managing Director, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited. “We decided to continue this campaign after Thailand became one of the first countries to offer it earlier this year when it was very well received.”
“Microsoft is continually evaluating the needs of its customers and we recognize that different users have different requirements. For these reasons, we make our software available in a range of versions so that consumers can pick and choose the package that best fits their usage and price-range. This Home and Student edition of Microsoft Office offers the key Microsoft programs that most home-users and students will need,” added Patama Chantaruck. “Ultimately, with this campaign we want to make it even easier for consumers to choose the right software for them, so it’s important to note that this promotion is designed for home-users and is not applicable for business purposes.”
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 best suits the needs of general users and students by allowing for fast and easy document creation and presentation. The included programs can also gather information - including pictures and sound - into one place in order to maximize convenience for users searching from the OneNote 2007 program. The software package now also comes with improved menu and tool functions and provides more user-friendly graphics and formatting functionality - as well as a new efficient tool to help manage time and security systems.
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 consists of four programs:
