Samed Resorts, the holding entity of five resort properties on Koh Samet, continues to avidly support efforts to promote Koh Samet as a ‘Green Destination’ in cooperation with the local community and forestry department officials. During the past five years, Samed Resorts has helped spearhead environmental projects such as the annual Beach Clean Up, Planting of Corals, Garbage Bank and more recently conservation of Hornbills to prevent destruction of the natural resources and beauty of the island from pollution and the increasing influx of holidaymakers.
Samed Resorts’ latest initiative is the ‘Adopt-a-Turtle’ campaign, which aims to conserve sea Green turtles in the Gulf of Thailand, and to support the turtle breeding project on Koh Mun Nai, which is being undertaken by the Ministry of Environment’s Eastern Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center.
Guests of Samed Resorts will be invited to ‘adopt’ a turtle by contributing Baht 150 for the purchase of a Thai cotton made turtle or Baht 240 for a pack of six blank cards, depicting 3 different turtle illustrations by reputable Thai illustrator, ML Chiratorn Chirapravati. Guests and visitors to Koh Samet can also contribute to the project through the Donation Box placed in the lobby areas of the five Samed Resorts’ properties, namely Paradee, Le Vimarn Cottages & Spa, Ao Prao Resort, Samed Club and Sai Kaew Beach Resort.
