Scotiabank has been selected one of the “World’s 50 Safest Bank” 2009 from Global Finance magazine, and has been ranked on the 23rd out of 50 Safest Banks of the world. Details and a full report on this rating will be published in the April issue of Global Finance magazine.

The “World’s 50 Safest Bank” 2009 were selected through a comparison of the long-term credit ratings and total assets of the 500 largest banks around the world. Ratings from the Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch were used.

Global Finance magazine was established for 22 years, and has published its “World’s Safest Banks” listing for 17 years. This ranking has become a recognized and trusted standard of creditworthiness for the entire financial world.
