Epson Thailand introduced its ProGraphic printing system using the latest Micro Piezo technology with high mechanical pressure to control ink droplet, to penetration into packaging and label printing on demand. The company has also planned to fully foray into commercial and industrial printing segments.
Epson Thailand’s country manager Mr. Eiji Kato said that under the company’s long-range vision ‘SE15 (Seiko Epson 15)’ for achieving future business growth and its envisioned state in the year 2015 that Epson was determined to expand its working teams together with exploring new markets including the ProGraphic printer by using micro piezo print head as a core technology to create innovative printing inventions. The company has also divided its main targets into two major segments --- Commercial Printing and Industrial Printing.
“Primarily, our ProGraphic printer has been well-received in the commercial printing segment and now it has made its way to become a leader in both pre-press market and wedding studio business. Epson has always intended to achieve new customer base and, according to a rapid growth of packaging and label printing business throughout Asia which went up to 34% of overall global printing market in 2009*, the company has prepared to respond to growing needs of the print on demand services with a release of Epson SurePress L-4033A that comes with micro piezo technology. The debut of this new printer was also an official introduction of Epson’s ProGraphic to Thai industrial printing business”, commented Mr. Kato.

Mr. Yunyong Muneemongkoltorn, Epson Thailand's general manager, unveiled that in the first quarter of 2011 Epson has managed to maintain last year’s growth of ProGraphic line at 15-20% in commercial printing segment including pre-press market or printeries where the company has currently held more than 80% market share, wedding studios and minilabs as main target. Likewise, Epson has started to expand its business into many existing markets including hospitals, instructional media business, PR & Advertising services and government sector. The company has also planned to explore new potential markets such as fashion design business, outdoor media production, auto accessory business and advertising agencies.
“These two new products launched today are Epson Stylus PRO-7890 and Epson Stylus PRO-9890 specially designed for pre-press, wedding studios and minilabs. Epson SurePress L-4033A is a digital inkjet printer that comes with Roll-to-Roll-Aqueous Ink system. This product is the only answer for anyone looking for a versatile printing solution that is value for business. The printer runs low cost-per-page printing and offers various substrate supports e.g. normal paper, PVC sticker, film and label stock with maximum width up to 330 mm. A label size 100 x 118 mm. costs only 1.68 Thai Baht per each label. Moreover, this smart printer offers six-color printing with a speed of five meter per minute. This Epson SurePress L-4033A will also minimize a set-up time prior to printing to only 15 minutes while the conventional printing press requires at least three-hour set-up.
