TOP FASHION DESIGNER SHOWCASES COLLECTION INSPIRED BY NIKKI BEACH 17TH TO 19TH AUGUST, 2012

Renowned Asian designer, Max Tan, is to launch his stunning new resortwear collection as part of his new ‘Liquid’ range, at Nikki Beach’s forthcoming Fashion & Arts weekend from 17 to 19 August in Koh Samui. His striking diffusion collection will feature 24 outfits based on his “Wear Everywear” premise combined with cues taken from the global Nikki Beach lifestyle; glamorous, sexy, simple, in-trend and immediately entertaining! Recipient of features in Asian Vogue and named by Surface as a future fashion icon to watch out for, Max Tan has been experimenting with quirk cuts and expanding on simple ideas, conjuring silhouettes that conceals the wearer’s form, creating a new shape altogether. Max said, “My collections focus on constantly exploring the relationship between the masculine and the feminine; I design for women with an artistic and intellectual bent. I’m always looking at ‘maximising’ on minimalistic ideas, proportions and sometimes just blowing things out of proportion!” Nikki Beach Koh Samui has launched Asia’s first Nikki Beach Fashion & Arts weekend to be just that; an explosion of arty fun and accessible, intelligent entertainment designed to take VIP guests on an inspiring journey through the best of fashion, food, art and music. The fashion show will also feature the top independent fashion designer on Koh Samui Island, Vicki Curtis, who will present an exclusive collection at the weekend. The event will comprise of the fashion shows plus a “live art” exhibition made complete by a kicking line-up of International DJs. Friday 17th will feature leading Samui chefs joining forces to create ‘food as art’, resulting in a spectacular feast afterwards. There will be live mural paintings throughout the weekend, providing perfect inspiration for passionate fun under Samui’s beautiful sky, and Friday night will close with an intimate VIP party for Nikki Beach guests and DJs spinning soulful grooves ‘til the early hours.
