PARTNERS IN LIFE SKILLS FORUM TO PROMOTE A JOINT COLLABORATION TO ENHANCE QUALITY EDUCATION

Fostering networks of partners to support Life Skills Development Program through integrated learning Right To Play Thailand Foundation organized a “Partners in Life Skills Forum” recently at Eastin Hotel Makkasan Bangkok welcoming distinguished guest speakers and education experts from Peace Corps Thailand, Royal Thai Ministry of Education as well as Right To Play International’s representatives to discuss the issues, challenges, and successes and seek future collaboration under Life Skills Development Program to enhance the quality of education for school children, vulnerable youth, young offenders, migrant children and refugee children in Thailand using sport and play as an innovative and dynamic learning tool within a comprehensive and holistic approach. The forum consisted of a panel discussion and interactive group discussions for all participants to share ideas and generate a better understanding of the importance of Life Skills Development for children and youth in Thailand. Right To Play’s Life Skills programming now works in partnership with INGOs, local NGOs, and government agencies from a range of humanitarian fields including Foundation for Rural Youth, Raks Thai Foundation, Buddharaksa Foundation, Plan International as well as Peace Corps Thailand to extend its sphere of influence to promote quality education through activity based and reflective learning together with child centered approach. Right To Play Thailand Foundation has developed and implemented activity-based learning program associated with developing life skills through a learner centered and experiential learning model in partnership with Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), Ministry of Education since 2007. In 2012, we reached 42 schools in Trang, Satun, Songkla, Phuket, Bangkok and Nakhonsawan and engaged more than 400 teachers and 8,000 students through regular classroom activities and special events. -KPA- Click for photo release at www.thaipr.net
