TEAM GROUP signed a construction supervision contract with Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL for the Xe Pian-Xe Namnoy Hydroelectric Power Project, Lao PDR.
On 28 November 2013, at 16.00 hrs, Mr. Chawalit Chantararat, Managing Director of TEAM GROUP, representing TEAM Consulting Engineering and Management Co., Ltd. (TEAM), and Mr. Pongdith Potchana, Chief Executive officer of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL (RATCH) signed a construction supervision contract for the Xe Pian-Xe Namnoy Hydroelectric Power Project, at the Ratchaburirom Room on the mezzanine floor of the RATCH head office, Ngam Wong Wan Road, Nonthaburi. As per the contract, TEAM is assigned with engineering consulting services and construction supervision for the project with is located in Champasak Province, Lao PDR.
“TEAM has been entrusted by RATCH with engineering services and EIA in many of their projects. We have worked together and achieved great success time and again; so we are confident that, through our cooperation, the Xe Pian-Xe Namnoy Project will be achieved in due time and within the budget,” said Mr. Chawalit.
The Xe Pian-Xe Namnoy Hydroelectric Power Project is located in Champasak Province, Lao PDR. Its major components include Xe Pian Dam, 1,300 meters long and 48 meters high; Xe Namnoy Dam, 1,600 meters long and 73 meters high; Houay Makchan Dike; a 9.5 kilometer long diversion weir; a 15 kilometer long tunnel, and a 420 MW powerhouse, which is expected to generate 1,860 GWh/year of electricity, 90 percent of which will be sold to Thailand while the rest will be used domestically. In 2011, TEAM took part in the design of the power plant and prepared the tender document for RATCH.
Mr. Chawalit revealed that the construction, which would last for 64 months, will start in December 2013 and is slated for completion in February 2019. TEAM GROUP is delivering quality services to ensure the construction meets international standards and completes on time and within the budget.
TEAM has accrued experience in hydroelectric power projects both in Thailand and abroad. In Lao PDR, the company has been engaged in projects of all scales, ranging from those with generating capacity of 10MW, 5MW, 615 MW to 1,280 MW, e.g. the Nam Sana, Nam Ngum 2, and Xayaburi projects.
