Our Indian Chef Rajan at Rang Mahal restaurant proudly presents authenticity of Gujarati cuisine in a set Thali meal. Gujarati Cuisine is primarily a vegetarian's gourmet and has the influences from the Jain & Buddhist religion.
Most of the Gujarati dishes are distinctively sweet, salty and spicy at the same time. A typical Gujarati Thali offers Rotli, Daal, Bhaat and Shaak. It is common to add a little sugar or jaggery to some of the shaak and daal. The sweet flavour of these dishes is believed to neutralize the slightly salty taste of the water. Available everyday from 15 June - 15 August 2014.
Rang Mahal is the rooftop Indian restaurant on the 26th floor of The Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok, Sukhumvit 18.Traditionally, Rang Mahal was the pleasure house and banqueting room specially decorated by Indian Kings with intricate mirror work and the choicest paintings. The Kings used to come down to Rang Mahal to wear off their royal worries, where the best Indian cuisines, wines, and music were provided. We have taken inspiration from tradition not only in decor but also in the epicurean delights that it serves. At the Rang Mahal, Chefs flown in from India have recreated a tantalizing mix of ethnic culinary styles for food connoisseurs. Cuisines raging from Mughlai, Nawabi to the fiery frontier, cooked with the choicest herbs and spices ensure that every morsel is redolent with a heavy aroma and flavor.
