Press Releases »

Conrad Bangkok and GE signed an agreement to convert the hotel’s lighting system to LED (light-emitting diodes). This transition is an element of Conrad Bangkok’s strategy to promote a greener future through energy savings. The LED lights that will be installed are brighter and significantly more efficient than fluorescent counterparts.
Hilton Worldwide is the first and only major multi-brand hospitality company to make sustainability measurement and corrective action a brand standard at each of its more than 3,900 hotels globally. LightStayTM is Hilton Worldwide's proprietary system, which offers tools and resources for hotels to improve performance and share best practices. Reporting through LightStayTM, Hilton Worldwide has achieved its five-year goal to reduce total waste output by 20 percent; and is on track to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 20 percent, and water consumption by 10 percent, by 2015
“The developments of the modern world continue to impact the environment that we all live in. At Conrad Bangkok, we believe in the importance of preserving it for future generations,” said Harald Feurstein, General Manager. He continued: “The switch to LED lights will play a significant role in reducing our carbon footprint, thereby saving energy and lowering our operating costs.”
The conversion to LED lights will begin on October 1 and conclude on November 30, 2014 and will cover every bulb currently in use throughout the hotel.
