Anantara Hotels in Phuket Present Annual Roy E. Heinecke Foundation Scholarships

Press Releases »

Three Anantara properties in Phuket; Anantara Phuket Villas; Anantara Phuket Layan Resort & Spa and Anantara Vacation Club, recently hosted the Roy E. Heinecke Foundation Scholarship presentation for the fifth consecutive year, as part of the Anantara brand’s Corporate Social Responsibility philosophy of supporting and nurturing people in need.
Roy E. Heinecke Foundation Scholarships are presented every year to students in need who have an outstanding track record. For this year’s presentation, 86 students from six schools in the local Thalang area, namely Baan Mai Khao School, Tha ChatChai School, Baan Kor Ann School, Hong Yok Bamrung School, Thalang Pranangsang School and Watthepkrasattri School, received these scholarships.
The Roy E. Scholarship Foundation is an educational fund established in 1994 in memory of Mr. Roy E. Heinecke, the father of Mr. William E. Heinecke, CEO of Minor International. Scholarships are financially supported by the Heinecke family, and to date the foundation has given scholarships to over 500 students to support their education from early learning stages through to graduation.
The late Mr. Roy E. Heinecke spent many years serving the U.S. Embassy in the Asia Pacific region. Being exposed to the cultures and local way of life in these countries inspired him to support deserving youngsters by providing the advantage of a good education. The Heinecke family established the scholarship fund to fulfill this worthy wish.
