On 29 December 2014, Hard Rock Hotel & Cafe Pattaya led by Jorge Carlos Smith, General Manager donated 2,747 kilograms of Thai Jasmine rice to 5 charities for underprivileged kids in Pattaya.
Hard Rock Pattaya initiated ‘Rock The Rice’ project in conjunction with the Hard Rock International campaign, Imagine There’s No Hunger to help fight childhood hunger and poverty.
Donations received from all Hard Rock Pattaya Band Members went to fund the purchase of the rice. The rice will be donated to 5 charities including Baan Kru Cha – Child Protection and Development life-skill center, Fountain of Life Children's Center, Mercy Center Pattaya, Sanuk Daycare Centre Pattaya & Baan Kru Boonchoo for Kids with Disabilities.
Baan Kru Cha – Child Protection and Development life-skill center mainly helps monitor cases of child sexual abuse and assist the children to develop their life skill and able to live independently. http://www.atcc.or.th
Fountain of Life Children's Center helps educate poor children from uneducated family from Northeastern Thailand who come to seek a better life in Pattaya and prevent them from the problem of drug, alcohol or sexual abuse. http://www.fountainoflifepattaya.com
Mercy Center Pattaya is the charity project to provide the shelter for the street children, as well as education and facilitate emotional healing including long term change for each child.
