H.S.H Prince Bhisatej Rajani (Left), Chairman of the Royal Project Foundationoined, and Mr. Alan Chng (Middle), President and CEO of Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. are watering the tea tree in the hand-over ceremony of a hybrid wind-solar energy system that Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. handed over to the Royal Agricultural Station Angkhang, Amphoe Fang, Chiang Mai. Also present is Mr. Warin Tantipongpanich (Right), Senior Director and General Manager of the Consumer Imaging and Information Division. The electricity generated by the 4-kilowatt hybrid wind-solar energy system will be used in the processing of high-quality tea, which 3,500 kilograms of fresh tea leaves and 700 kilograms of dried tea leaves are produced per week. It is estimated that the installation of hybrid wind-solar energy system will help the Royal Agricultural Station Angkhang save up to 22,192 baht per year.
“Clean Energy for Green World” project by Canon was launched in 2008 in the celebration of the 15th anniversary of Canon Marketing (Thailand) with the aim to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, the main cause of the greenhouse effect and global warming. Canon has installed wind turbines at schools in rural areas and hybrid wind-solar energy system at the Royal Agricultural Station Intanon and the Royal Agricultural Station Angkhang. A total of 40 wind turbines and hybrid wind-solar energy sites installed throughout the country will be able to generate a total of 68,036 kilowatts of electricity per year and help reduce more than 51 tonnes of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere per year.
