The Smith Hotel Awards celebrate stylish places to stay, shining the spotlight on some of the world's most incredible hotels. The awards are the result of boutique hotel lovers voting for their favourite hotels in 12 categories which are shortlisted in a global top ten for each award.

The Smith Hotel Awards website describes says of The Speakeasy, "the prohibition-theme bar unfolds like a puzzle box, with discreet dens, a Cohiba-stocked cigar room and a secret door to a hidden grassy terrace overlooking a glittering panorama of Bangkok. Flapper-girl waitresses fish bottles of Champagne from ice-filled bath tubs and serve French-themed tapas while jazz plays."
