Thomson Reuters and KPMG Thailand recently co-organized the 2015 Korea- ASEAN FTA Seminar in Bangkok on December 8. This seminar aims to provide Thai companies with greater understanding of the Korea-ASEAN FTA as it applies to country-specific FTA circumstances, so that they can better leverage the practical benefits available to them when they import or export goods and services from and to Korea. The seminar was officially hosted by Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and supported by Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
The opening speech was given by Mr. Ho-Dong Lee, Director General of MOTIE. The agenda covered various issues such as how Thai companies could maximize the utilization of the Korea-ASEAN FTA and understand Korea-ASEAN local issues of rules of origin, customs clearance and preferential tariff products & rates which were presented by KPMG Korea and Thailand representatives.
Jay Burabhasikhrin, International Trade Specialist, ANA Tax & Accounting, closed the seminar with a demonstration of Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Global Trade Management solutions to importers, exporters, trade and customs specialists from the Korean and Thai companies present at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok.
