Galaxy Entertainment Group – one of the world's leading developers and operators of integrated entertainment and resort facilities, and member of the Hang Seng index in partnership with DEAN & DELUCA, the purveyor of fine foods, have come to an agreement to bring its iconic New York lifestyle deli to Macau.
This agreement includes the opening of a minimum 3 cafe locations plus 1 market location over the terms of 10 years starting from 2017. The first cafe will be strategically anchoring itself at Macau's number 1 shopping and cafe society destination - the Promenade Shops in Galaxy Macau™ coming this fall. After the opening of the first cafe, Galaxy plans to open a second 700 square meter plus market in Galaxy Mall by 2018. More cafes are in the pipeline and will happen in the course of this partnership agreement. Galaxy will have the exclusive rights to develop DEAN & DELUCA in specific parts of the People's Republic of China as well as Macao and furthermore expect to explore other investment opportunities.
Founded in September 1977, DEAN & DELUCA opened its flagship store in SoHo, New York. This fall at Galaxy Macau, DEAN & DELUCA will open a 26-seat cafe with an elevated, contemporary look. Featuring distinctive subway tile and Carrera marble with a subtle nod to the Portuguese heritage will also be included in the design. The cafe will be serving grab-and-go items, as well as a selection of DEAN & DELUCA signature retail goods. The menu will include Roast Beef & Caramelized Pumpkin Multi-Grain Sandwich, Spicy Prawns & Guacamole on Squid Ink Bun, Cobb Salad, and Watermelon Salad with Salted Egg. Customers will be able to enjoy delectable sweets such as Blueberry Marble Cheesecake, Yuzu Meringue Tart, Red Velvet Cake and more. The Espresso Bar, featuring all-time-classics like Americano and lattes to specialties like Hong Kong Milk Tea Latte, and also cold drinks such as Burnt custard frappes to mimic the local favorite, Portuguese egg tart, bringing something new but familiar to the guests.
