Ms. Sireerat Corvanich (center to the right), Head of Credit Card Marketing Division, "KTC" or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, represented KTC to hand over 27,035,401 baht to Ms. Chantira Somboonkerd (center to the left), Fund Development and Communications Director, SOS Children's Villages Thailand Foundation Under the Royal Patronage of H.M. The Queen(Register Name). The donation was collected from KTC card members redrmption ofevery 1,000 KTC FOREVER points into 100 baht cash to the foundation.
Ms. Chantira stated, " SOS Children's Villages Thailand operates using the same principles as SOS Children's Villages around the world. The organization takes care of children who lost their parental care. By providing a family-like care in SOS family that raises children in a warm family environment full of love, these children can grow up and be part of a family again. At SOS Children's Villages Thailand roughly 700 children live in 5 locations; Bangpoo, Hatyai, Nongkhai, Chiang Rai and Phuket there are between 10-12 houses located at each village. Each house is led by an SOS mother who devotes herself to of around 8-10 children per house. Each SOS mother accepts all children as part of the SOS family unconditionally which creates a close and stable relationship like that between a mother and child. The role and duty of an SOS mother are very valuable as it gives children new lives. SOS mothers will teach their children basic life skills in the same environment as a child in a family would. Each child will receive the highest education to the best of their abilities so they grow to become the contributing member of society.
