Delivery and Maiden Voyage of Jira Bhum

Jira Bhum a 7,000 TEUs container vessel was named on 10 December 2024. The joyous event took place at Jiangsu New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co, Ltd. The milestone was graced by Police General Adul Sangsingkeo with Mrs.Aranya Sangsingkeo acting as the Sponsor Lady. Joining them were representatives from RCL's senior management team comprising Dr.Jamlong Atikul Chaiman, Mr. Sumate Tanthuwanit Chairman of the Executive Committee and Dr. Twinchok Tanthuwanit, President of RCL.

As with its three (3) other sister vessels, Guru Bhum, Hemma Bhum and Itthi Bhum which were delivered to RCL earlier last year, Jira Bhum was constructed by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Yard, China. However, Jira Bhum is one notch up in its specification when compared to its sister ships, as it is equipped with ESD - Energy Saving Devices "Pre-Shrouded Vanes (PSV)", which will help to reduce Co2 emission and fuel consumption of up to 3%.

On the same day, 10 December 2024, RCL also took pride in taking delivery of Varanya Bhum, being the last of the four (4) 12,000 TEUs series and its 1st service was named "RCG" service.
