of ASEAN Pulp and Paper Industries, in collaboration with Informa Markets, officially launched ASEAN Paper Bangkok 2025, aiming to advance carbon neutrality and foster a sustainable ecosystem.
Mr. Albert Kyaw Min, President of the Myanmar Pulp and Paper Industry Association, shared his views on the global outlook and direction of the paper industry. He emphasized that the world's commitment to environmental sustainability is growing stronger, and international collaboration is becoming increasingly tangible. This commitment is reflected in the stricter trade regulations adopted by many countries — covering everything from raw material usage to the entire production process, including recycling methods and circular practices. These developments have brought renewed attention to the paper industry, which has adapted and evolved to meet the demands of the modern era.
Today, the paper industry plays a vital role in advancing the transition to a circular economy, thanks to its key properties — including recyclability, reduced resource consumption, and natural biodegradability. The adoption of modern technologies in production, waste management, and resource circulation — such as energy-efficient systems, water recycling, and the use of alternative or agricultural waste materials — has further improved the industry's efficiency and environmental friendliness. ASEAN is emerging as a key region for the pulp and paper industry due to its competitive production costs, strong demand for paper, and its status as a large, integrated economic bloc. These factors make the region highly attractive for global paper companies seeking to invest and expand their operations.
As for Thailand's role in pulp and paper industry, it serves as a strategic hub and gateway to the ASEAN market — a position closely observed by many countries. This makes ASEAN Paper Bangkok 2025 more than just a trade show, it is a significant platform that brings together all stakeholders in the pulp and paper ecosystem. It will serve as an annual meeting point for entrepreneurs, innovators, experts, and thought leaders in the industry to set future directions, share insights and experiences across the entire production processes — from upstream to downstream — and explore innovations and technologies, including management and production solutions as well as effective recycling systems. For these reasons, the Federation of ASEAN Pulp and Paper Industries is proud to support and promote this important event.
Mr. Patrapee Chinachoti, Co-Chairman of Informa Markets - Thailand, stated that ASEAN Paper Bangkok 2025 marks another significant milestone, reaffirming its role as a key regional platform for the pulp, paper, tissue, and packaging industries. The event focuses on driving innovation, technology, environmental responsibility, and sustainability under the theme "Carbon-Neutral Pathways to a Sustainable Paper Industry Ecosystem." The theme reflects the industry's commitment to social and environmental responsibility, as well as to preserving nature and the planet. It highlights collaborative efforts to drive tangible changes in the industry's ecosystem, including the adoption of eco-friendly technologies, investment in innovation, improved waste management, circular production processes, and enhanced recycling practices.
The event is made possible through close collaboration with both Thai and international business organizations and academic institutions. Key partners include the Federation of ASEAN Pulp and Paper Industries (FAPPI), the Australasian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (Appita) from Australia, the Indian Agro & Recycled Paper Mills Association (IARPMA) from India, the Myanmar Pulp and Paper Industry Association (MPPIA) from Myanmar, and the Vietnam Pulp and Paper Association (VPPA) from Vietnam. From Thailand, supporting organizations include the Printing and Packaging Industry Club under the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), the Thai Pulp and Paper Industries Association (TPPIA), the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), the Faculty of Forestry at Kasetsart University, the Faculty of Science at Chulalongkorn University, and the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. Over 200 leading brands from 16 countries will take part in the exhibition, showcasing a wide array of innovations, technologies, and sustainable solutions in production. The event will also serve as a dynamic platform for business networking and forging new partnerships across the industry. A comprehensive program of conferences and seminars will offer valuable insights into the latest technologies, eco-friendly paper materials, resource-efficient production processes, and innovative packaging solutions. Highlighted topics will include the BCG economy model, business opportunities in strategic pulp production using agricultural raw materials, sustainability trends in Asia's corrugated packaging sector, the pulp and paper industry's pathway to Net Zero, and value chain optimization through AI and automation, among others. Industry professionals and interested attendees are warmly invited to join this event — an inspiring platform for new ideas, business growth, and long-term value creation.
ASEAN Paper Bangkok 2025 will be held from 11-13 June 2025 at BHIRAJ Hall 2, BITEC Bangna, in conjunction with ProPak Asia 2025. For more details about the exhibition, conference programs, and seminar activities, please visit www.aseanpaperbangkok.com.
