EECO Participates in the 10th Belt and Road Summit and Delivers a Special Presentation on the EEC Capital City: EECiti Project in Hong Kong

The Secretary-General delivered a special presentation during the "Signature Belt and Road Projects Session" on the topic of "EECiti: Smart & Sustainable 'LIVE-WORK-PLAY' City." He highlighted the potential and readiness of the new EEC Capital City (EECiti) project and outlined the strategies for its development. This includes securing partners for central infrastructure and utility development through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, as well as partners for commercial area development, with processes expected to commence around 2026.

The EEC Office intends to leverage Hong Kong's role in global fundraising and is currently in discussion with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) for advice on structuring an effective international bidding process to attract foreign investment.

The presentation garnered significant interest from both Hong Kong and international investors, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and utilities, clean energy, smart city service systems, and education. The EEC Office will use the feedback and suggestions received from investors at the summit to inform the upcoming Market Sounding process, which is part of the procedure for the EEC Project List announcement and the approval of investment principles.
