GWM (Thailand) is elevating its position as a leading automotive brand with a diverse range of products that meet the needs of global customers, with the concept of "All Scenarios, All Powertrains, for All Users." GWM (Thailand) has set a new benchmark in export performance, recording a strong and continuous growth over the past three years (2023-2025), from few hundreds in the first year to more than 3,000 units expected in 2025, resulting in more than 5,000 cumulative export sales within 2025. The success is driven by surging demand across ASEAN, Latin America and Caribbean, Australia, and Africa, led by the strong performance of GWM ORA (BEVs) and GWM TANK (HEVs), which continue to meet the rising global appetite for high-quality new energy vehicles. Exports within ASEAN also maintained robust momentum, with Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia emerging as key markets. This sustained growth underscores the strategic role of GWM Smart Factory in Rayong, Thailand, which boasts an annual production capacity of up to 80,000 units and serves as a vital hub for the brand's global export expansion.

In Just 3 Years, GWM (Thailand) Rises as a Global Export Hub

In 2024, the company expanded its portfolio by introducing the GWM TANK lineup—GWM TANK 300 HEV and GWM TANK 500 HEV—into the Indonesian market, further strengthening its regional footprint. Most recently, in 2025, GWM broadened its global reach by entering nine new markets, including Malaysia, Australia, Bhutan, Mauritius, Brazil, Antigua, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Barbados, resulting in more than 3,000 units being exported this year. Since commencing export production at its GWM Smart Factory in Rayong in 2023, GWM has accumulated export sales of nearly 4,000 units (as of August 2025) and is on track to exceed 5,000 cumulative units by the end of this year.
The year 2025 marks a pivotal milestone for GWM (Thailand)'s export journey, not only with the expansion into a greater number of international markets but also with the successful deployment of a truly multi-powertrain and multi-segment portfolio. Covering HEVs, BEVs, and advanced diesel models, GWM is meeting diverse consumer needs across regions worldwide. This achievement underscores the strength and versatility of GWM's manufacturing capabilities in Thailand and highlights the company's emergence as a vital global hub for production and exports.
EVs Take the Lead: Driving GWM (Thailand)'s Export Success in 2025
GWM has established itself as the first brand to manufacture and export electric vehicles from Thailand to global markets, with exports of more than 1,000 units of the GWM ORA Good Cat to key destinations such as Brazil and Australia since March 2025. This milestone demonstrates the advanced capabilities of the GWM Smart Factory in Rayong in meeting the surging global demand for EVs, aligning with the worldwide transition toward 100% electric mobility. In early 2025, global sales of EVs and PHEVs rose by over 29%, while Thailand's EV production soared by an impressive 393.12% in the first half of the year. Reinforcing this momentum, the Thai government has set a bold target for 30% of the country's total vehicle production to be Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) by 2030, positioning Thailand as a key player in the global EV supply chain.
Move forward with Strong and Sustainable Export Growth
From a cumulative export volume, GWM (Thailand)'s top three trading partners to date are Indonesia, Brazil, and Vietnam, with the best-selling models being the GWM TANK 500 HEV, the GWM ORA Good Cat, and the GWM TANK 300 in both HEV and diesel variants. Looking ahead, GWM (Thailand) is set to expand exports to more countries, in greater volumes, and with an even broader range of models, reflecting the brand's deep understanding of global consumer behaviors and preferences. This strategic direction not only strengthens the competitiveness of GWM (Thailand) but also reinforces its position as a dynamic player in the global automotive market.
