Island Illustrated with Lucas Beaufort at Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort

This November, Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort - recently named Best Beach Resort by Travel Trade Maldives - will welcome French contemporary artist Lucas Beaufort for Island Illustrated, a week-long creative residency. Recognised for his colourful forms and whimsical figures, Beaufort's work embodies freedom, playfulness and connection - qualities that mirror the spirit of island life at Avani+ Fares.

Taking place from 23 - 29 November against a backdrop of turquoise waters, white sand and lush coconut groves, Beaufort will transform the resort into his studio. Guests can expect live paintings, an expansive mural, open workshops and intimate talks that reveal the stories behind his colourful world.

The highlight will be a live painting on a 200 x 200 cm canvas, unfolding across different locations on the island, alongside the creation of a large-scale mural woven into the resort's architecture. Guests of all ages will also be invited to join Beaufort for masterclasses and interactive sessions, from children discovering their first brush strokes to adults experimenting with new techniques.
