Continuing the company's long-running commitment to brick-and-mortar retail, Paul Smith is excited to announce a new Thailand flagship shop, opening on 16 July 2025. Situated in Bangkok's prestigious EMQUARTIER shopping mall, alongside some of the world's most renowned and recognisable names in luxury retail, the store will represent a successful chapter for the company's presence in Thailand.
As with all Paul Smith stores, the EMQUARTIER shop is designed as an extension of the company's vibrant personality whilst highlighting the best of local materials and craftmanship. The store front features contrasting glossy red panels and local limestone with Sir Paul's doodles engraved into the facade's stonework.
The interior elements pay homage to Sir Paul's first shop in Nottingham. One of the key features is a 3x3m divider screen, inspired by the designer Eileen Grey and representing Paul Smith's humble beginnings by referencing the size of his first shop.
Of course, there is no Paul Smith without British humour, so Sir Paul asked for a custom Fun House Mirror to be created for the EMQUARTIER shop, a replica can be found in Sir Paul's office in London. Another nod to the company's British heritage can be spotted in the fitting rooms, where the walls are covered in vintage music posters by some of Sir Paul's favourite bands - from the Rolling Stones to Oasis.
Furnishings are a mix of vintage and custom, with Italian 1970s lounge chairs upholstered in Paul Smith Maharam fabrics and central display table designed by Renato Zevi. The famous Paul Smith art walls also make an appearance and showcase an impressive selection of works by featuring drawings from British artist Nigel O'Neil as well as exhibition posters from Pablo Picasso. Since the very earliest days of the company, their stores have blurred the line between retail space and gallery, redefining what people can expect from a shopping experience.
Paul Smith EMQUARTIER, Bangkok, will open its doors on 16 July 2025.
