In the realm of art, the term "Vernissage" originates from the French word meaning "varnishing" - the final step in which an artist applies varnish to a work before unveiling it to the public. Over time, the word had inspired a tradition within the art community, referring to a preview of artworks prior to the official opening of an exhibition.

"In earlier times, artists shared this privileged time with collectors and close friends on the day before the exhibition opened allowing them to see works not yet stamped with public meaning: only those who could pierce more deeply were permitted to feel the work's first breath..."

Inspired by the term's meaning and significance, The Art Auction Center as Thailand's No. 1 art auction house has now prepared an exclusive auction preview and auction under the name of "Vernissage."

Mr. Piriya Vachajitpan, director of The Art Auction Center, says, ""With Vernissage, we aim to create a special moment where collectors and art enthusiasts alike can experience the ambiance of a world-class art fair. We invite everyone to take part in the unfolding artistic dialogue and to appreciate these masterpieces up close—before they are passed on to their new owners."

The event showcases a curated selection of 130 artworks by Thailand's leading artists such as Thawan Duchanee, Montien Boonma, Chalermchai Kositpipat and Natee Utarit, offering a comprehensive reflection of Thai art from past to present.

Among the highlights is a pair of original paintings about pivotal scenes in the popular Netflix series "Mad Unicorn," which will be auctioned for charity, with all proceeds to be used as scholarships for students of the Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design, the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and of the Department of Painting at Poh-Chang Academy of Arts, the Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin.

Come experience this world-class event. "Vernissage" will be held based on the following schedule:

In the world of art, some moments can never be recreated, and some beautiful things appear only once. So, don't miss the chance to be part of this meaningful moment at Vernissage!

A First Encounter… A Moment to Celebrate

"There is a magic in the hours of beginnings. A quiet enchantment concealed in that first moment when the doors open, when a gaze first falls upon an image, or when one steps into that special space where art and audience meet for the very first time. That's the moment to drink in and celebrate. In the world of art, this moment is called the Vernissage.

After nights upon nights of devotion, with hundreds and thousands of touches until the artist's spirit is at rest, the final skin of varnish is laid, sealing the beauty as if reserving it for a final eternity. This act is called Vernissage. In earlier times, artists would share this privileged interval with collectors and close friends on the day before the exhibition opened, allowing them to see works not yet stamped with public meanings; only those who could pierce more deeply were permitted to feel the work's first breath. It was a time of exchange conversation in the language of paint, a language you may not know how to read, yet can somehow sing.

Because light and darkness stand at the origin of the very mechanisms of wonder, we honor this threshold where art first emerges from shadow. The Art Auction Center invites you to waltz into "Vernissage," an exhibition in which you become a primary witness to 130 works gathered from the treasured memory of time. Perhaps before humanity once more persuades itself that the far field is always fairer than the ground beneath its feet - you will find something worthy of keeping until the day the sunset gate is shut.

Shall we watch the flowers grow for a while and rest our minds in this warm delight of now?"
