"Golden 51 Years: Toward New Heights" China - Thailand SME Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony and Cultural & Economic Exchange Salon Held in Suzhou

On February 6, the "Golden 51 Years: Toward New Heights" China - Thailand SME Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony and Cultural & Economic Exchange Salon was held at TusPark in Suzhou. The event was co-hosted by Digital Connect (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Innovative Collaboration Federation, receiving the participation from government representatives from both countries, including the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) of Thailand and the Suzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Suzhou). Chinese and Thai enterprises' delegations gathered for in-depth discussions on cooperation and development prospects between SMEs of the two countries.

During the event, witnessed by leaders and representatives from relevant parties, the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion of Thailand signed a cooperation agreement with the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Innovative Collaboration Federation and Tus-Holdings Suzhou. The signing marks the beginning of substantive and in-depth cooperation between the parties in areas including cross-regional integration of innovation resources, industrial collaboration, and bilateral exchanges among SMEs.

In her remarks, Ms. Panita Sinthava, Director of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion of Thailand, commended the long-running friendship between Thailand and China, which is founded on mutual trust and respect. She noted that the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation is more than a ceremonial occasion, but a meaningful step toward further strengthening long-term Thailand-China cooperation. Director Panita Sinthava noted that the cooperation aims to jointly build a Thailand-the Chinese Mainland-Hong Kong collaborative innovation platform, enhance connectivity, and support the two-way flow of industrial and innovation resources.

She emphasized that in a rapidly evolving global economy, innovation has become a key driver of sustainable growth. When innovation connects countries, opportunities know no borders. This agreement stands as a new starting point for both sides in advancing innovation-driven growth, and will further deepen bilateral cooperation, strengthen economic ties, and contribute to a more dynamic regional economy.

At the event, Ms. Zheng Xiaoling, head of the Suzhou-Hong Kong Innovation Cooperation Promotion Association, introduced that the association has long been committed to building bridges for cross-regional and cross-border innovation cooperation. By hosting this China - Thailand SME exchange event, the association aims to support Jiangsu enterprises in connecting with high-quality resources in Thailand, while showcasing to the Thai market Jiangsu's strengths in industrial development and talent attraction.

Mr. Lin Kaisen, Senior Vice President of Tus-Holdings, stated that since receiving an audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand in 2015, Tus-Holdings has established a number of important platforms in Thailand, including TusStar (Thailand-Bangkok) and the TusPark WHA. He noted that China - Thailand cooperation has now moved beyond traditional trade and entered a new stage characterized by two-way empowerment between technology and industry. "Tus-Holdings will pursue deeper integration in technological innovation and investment-driven incubation for SMEs," Mr. Lin said. "While consolidating our existing cooperation foundations, we aim to inject new momentum through emerging industries and innovation-driven empowerment."

During the exchange session, Mr. Wu Junyao, Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Innovative Collaboration Federation, observed that Thailand serves as a "super connector" for Chinese enterprises expanding into ASEAN markets. He emphasized that China - Thailand cooperation should focus on deep integration across industrial chains, whereby Chinese enterprises introduce technology and capital, while leveraging Thailand's local resources and talent to jointly expand market share. He particularly highlighted the importance of a talent-first approach, proposing the joint establishment of a China-Thailand industry-education integration base to cultivate interdisciplinary talent proficient in the Chinese language, equipped with technical expertise, and well-versed in the Thai market. Corporate representatives participating in the discussions expressed their shared aspiration for China and Thailand to move beyond simple transaction toward long-term, partnership-based development, advancing from "doing business together" to "building shared endeavors."

Recently, the delegation from OSMEP conducted a three-day visit to Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces, engaging in in-depth exchanges with enterprises including Alibaba, Wensli, Huitongda, TusCity, and Zijinshan Science and Technology City. The delegation highlighted cooperation between Chinese and Thai SMEs in areas including technological R&D, industrial integration, and cultural and creative industries, and signed a strategic memorandum of cooperation with Alibaba. This event represented not only an economic and trade cooperation, but also a deep convergence of development visions. Building on this momentum, SMEs from both countries are set to collaborate on a broader stage, contributing through pragmatic action to shared China-Thailand development.
