Avani Hotels & Resorts Brings Coastal-Cool Energy to Wollongong

Minor Hotels will introduce its stylish, design-led Avani Hotels & Resorts brand to Wollongong, one of New South Wales' most dynamic and fast-growing coastal cities. Opening in 2027, Avani Wollongong Hotel marks the brand's first new-build property in the state and a milestone in Avani's growing footprint across Australasia.

A Prime Coastal Location Anchored in Local Vision

Ideally located at 22 Kenny Street, the new hotel sits moments from Wollongong's central transport hub, vibrant CBD and golden city beach. Avani Wollongong will anchor a major mixed-use development by respected local developer Blaq Property Group, designed to leverage off the city's growth across the health precinct, CBD renewal and the revitalisation of nearby Port Kembla. Minor Hotels has worked closely with Destination Wollongong to ensure the hotel aligns with the region's long-term tourism strategy and supports major events.

The project received development approval from the City of Wollongong in July 2024. Blaq Property Group has made further applications to increase the number of guest rooms from 107 to 140 which is currently under assessment.
