The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) has announced the upcoming 'One Stop Open House 2026' event, held under the theme "Open Mind Open Future." The event is scheduled to take place from 6-8 March 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, with the objective of serving as a central platform connecting Thai youth with comprehensive information on education, career guidance, and personal development opportunities including access to university programmes from institutions nationwide, career counselling, and the cultivation of Soft Skills and Future Skills essential for the 21st century. The press conference was presided over by Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, joined by Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul of MHESI, alongside senior officials and representatives from agencies under the Ministry's supervision.
Mr. Surasak stated that "MHESI places the highest importance on building a strong educational foundation for young people and all segments of Thai society, by leveraging science, research, and innovation as key drivers, alongside continuous promotion of Upskilling and Reskilling in line with the Ministry's core policy of 'Enhancing Intelligence, Creating Opportunity, and Building the Nation through Innovation.' This policy encompasses both human capital development and the advancement of the country's scientific and innovation capabilities. The 'One Stop Open House 2026' event therefore serves as a vital mechanism through which MHESI creates a central platform linking students, parents, and the general public to comprehensive and actionable information, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future pathways with greater confidence."
"this event aligns with the country's long-term national development strategy, which emphasises the cultivation of high-quality human capital individuals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to respond to the rapidly evolving digital world. This includes capabilities in digital technology, artificial intelligence, the green economy, and future industries, all of which are critical mechanisms for enhancing national productivity and international competitiveness." He further noted that
MHESI has designed the event as a "Space of Opportunity" consolidating knowledge, scholarships, and comprehensive educational counselling under a single roof, while presenting labour market information spanning upstream, midstream, and downstream pathways. Operating under the concept of a ONE STOP SERVICE SANDBOX, the event will span over 25,000 square metres and feature more than 70 exhibition booths, thoughtfully designed as an integrated learning environment to enable participants to systematically connect education, skills development, and career pathways.
The event is organised into three principal zones:
Zone 1: Open Mind presents the policy direction and strategic vision of MHESI in preparing Thailand for the transformations of the 21st century. The zone also features Skill and Workforce Assessment activities to help participants identify their individual strengths and aptitudes.
Zone 2: Open House provides a platform for leading universities from across the country to present their academic programmes, educational opportunities, and Upskill/Reskill development pathways, alongside career counselling and scholarship information spanning a wide range of disciplines.
Zone 3: Open Opportunities promotes equitable access to education and employment by showcasing future pathways, emerging technologies, and innovations from government agencies and partner networks. The zone also features a simulated TCAS examination to help participants prepare for university entrance.
In addition to the three main zones, the event is packed with highlight activities across all three days, offering a multidimensional learning experience encompassing academic, technological, and career guidance dimensions. Key highlights include:
- TCAS SIM EXAM - A simulated examination environment facilitated by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT), allowing students to sit practice examinations and receive their scores immediately.
- Space Skills & Career Guidance - Presented by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), offering knowledge on the space and geo-informatics industries along with career pathways for specialised professionals.
- "Path to a Career as a Metrologist" - Hosted by the National Institute of Metrology (NIMT), highlighting the critical role of metrology professionals in the economy and industry, with Upskill and Reskill training programmes for those interested in entering this specialist field.
- Scholarships and Support Opportunities from MHESI agencies, aimed at broadening access to education and empowering Thai youth equitably.
The event also features a rich programme of panel discussions and special lectures, including presentations on AI, Creative Skills, and workforce competencies by Adobe; a policy forum on "Advancing Thailand's Higher Education Workforce into the Era of Creative AI"; a keynote on the "Thailand AI Digital Roadmap 2030"; and a career panel on the gaming industry featuring Thailand's leading game developers. Additionally, the UBI Alpha Business Contest 2026 Grand Final will bring together business plan presentations from four regions across the country.
Rounding out the programme is a special showcase of Muay Thai, featuring traditional teacher salutation ceremonies, ancient Muay Thai rhythmic movements, Keeta Muay Thai performances, technique demonstrations, and a panel discussion on "Muay Thai: Pathways in Education and Career." The event will also include a contemporary cultural performance, "Colors of Siam," presented by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University, as well as appearances by educational influencers and role models sharing their personal experiences.
Mr. Surasak added that "this event encompasses both onsite and online formats to maximise broad participation, inspire young people, and support them in envisioning a clear and purposeful life path one that enables them to achieve sustainable livelihoods. This reflects MHESI's commitment to driving Thai education that is open, forward-looking, and equitable. Crucially, this event has been designed not merely as an exhibition or seminar, but as a strategically integrated initiative bringing together knowledge, technology, innovation, and collaborative networks from all sectors including higher education institutions, research agencies, the private sector, and industry in order to foster a learning ecosystem that holistically nurtures human potential."
