Qingyang Scented Sachets Exported to Uzbekistan for the First Time

On June 10, a batch of Chinese Qingyang scented sachets valued at approximately 2,000 US dollars was dispatched from Gansu to Uzbekistan. For the first time, Chinese Qingyang scented sachet entered the market of Central Asia.

This batch of scented sachets features the classic Zongzi (rice dumpling) shape design. The bag body, with its defined edges, is sewn from emerald brocade. Handmade dark green Chinese knot, paired with solid wood beads, is attached on top. Wood ornament with "Fu" character and tassel of the same color family act as the pendant at the bottom. The bag body is embroidered with patterns like golden Loong, red carps, and waves in colorful threads. The stitches of the inscription, "Together by Strong Bond", are fine and neat.

Listed among the first batch of national-level intangible cultural heritage items, Qingyang scented sachet is a custom for Loong Boat Festival passed down for thousands of years on the Loess Plateau of China. The patterns of tiger head, the Five Poisons, and Zongzi, deeply carry people's unadorned wish for driving away evil, welcoming blessings, and expecting health and well-being. This little embroidered sachet for the Loong Boat Festival, has sailed across the seas, and become a cultural souvenir gift for friendship and mutual understanding between China and other countries.
