The 6.6 Mega Sale is one of the most significant shopping events for the e-commerce industry in Southeast Asia. During this key sales campaign, J&T Express, a leading global logistics service provider, delivered strong performance across the region. From June 1-6, J&T Express handled an average of approximately 35.51 million parcels per day across Southeast Asia, with daily parcel volume surpassing 37 million pieces on June 2, the campaign's peak day.
In Thailand, parcel volume increased by 89% year-on-year during the campaign period, exceeding the regional average growth rate of approximately 85%. Despite the significant surge in volume, J&T Express maintained smooth and efficient operations throughout its nationwide service network.
Strengthening Capabilities to Meet Surging Demand
To accommodate growing service demand during the promotional period, J&T Express Thailand expanded its service network and upgraded key infrastructure ahead of the campaign.
At the last-mile delivery level, the company recruited 3,200 additional pickup and delivery personnel, opened 80 new service outlets, and upgraded automation systems to 20 existing facilities to further enhance delivery coverage and parcel handling capacity.
To strengthen its sorting and distribution network, J&T Express established one new sorting center and four additional parcel collection hubs, while deploying four new cross-belt automated sorting systems to improve operational efficiency and processing capacity at key logistics nodes.
In terms of transportation capacity, the company added 55 line-haul vehicles and 30 branch-line delivery vehicles, further strengthening connectivity across its transportation network during the peak season.
As a result of these comprehensive preparations, J&T Express maintained stable and efficient operations throughout the campaign period. Average end-to-end delivery efficiency improved by 10% compared with the same period of the previous month, while customer complaint rates declined by 36%. Despite the substantial increase in parcel volume, service quality remained consistently strong.
Supporting Entrepreneurs with More Efficient Fulfillment During the Campaign
Ploy, a Thai e-commerce entrepreneur specializing in home fragrance products, shared that her store recorded more than 1,500 orders in a single day for the first time during this year's 6.6 campaign, representing a significant increase from normal sales levels. Faced with the sudden surge in demand, she was initially concerned about inventory management and fulfillment efficiency.
Prior to the campaign, J&T Express's key account team analyzed her business requirements and introduced J&T Fulfillment, the company's integrated warehousing and fulfillment solution. The service helped streamline inventory management and order processing, significantly improving fulfillment efficiency.
During the campaign, more than 1,500 parcels were processed and dispatched from the warehouse within 24 hours, while the successful pickup and delivery rate within 36 hours reached 91%.
"With a professional team supporting our inventory management and fulfillment operations, we can dedicate more time to product development and customer service," said Ploy.
Her experience reflects J&T Express Thailand's broader support for small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses. Beyond logistics services, the company also collaborated with SMEs during the 6.6 campaign through a co-marketing initiative on Bangkok's MRT, covering 38 stations, 54 train sets, and nearly 1,200 digital advertising screens. The campaign provided merchants with greater brand exposure opportunities and helped them reach more consumers during the shopping festival.
At the same time, J&T Express continued to prioritize employee well-being. To address Thailand's high temperatures, the company installed cooling facilities at sorting centers nationwide and provided complimentary drinking water and beverages to frontline employees, ensuring a supportive working environment throughout the peak season.
