Press Releases »

SCB X Public Company Limited reported a net profit of THB 11,117 million for the second quarter of 2026, an increase of 9.0% from the previous quarter, supported by improved net interest income and a significant increase in investment and trading income. The results reflect the resilience of SCBX's business model, which combines the strengths of its banking business (Gen 1), consumer and digital finance business (Gen 2), and platform and technology business (Gen 3) to build diversified revenue streams and balanced risk management amid a declining interest rate environment. Compared with the same period last year, however, net profit declined 13.1%.

SCBX Reports 2Q26 Net Profit of THB 11,117 Million, Up 9% qoq Diversified Business Portfolio Cushions Impact of Declining Interest Rates

Diversified revenue structure underpins resilient performance

Net interest income stood at THB 27,306 million, up 2.0% qoq but down 10.2% yoy, reflecting pressure on net interest margin (NIM) following the policy rate cuts during 2025-2026, while loan growth remained largely flat compared with the end of last year, reflecting prudent new lending across the Group. On the other hand, the Group's diversified revenue structure helped cushion the impact of the declining rate environment. Fee and other income stood at THB 11,365 million, up 14.8% yoy, driven by continued growth in the wealth management business through Group Wealth Synergy — including SCB WEALTH Credit Card by CardX, which connects wealth services with everyday spending, and the expansion of global investment offerings through InnovestX. Investment and trading income stood at THB 2,552 million, down 21.2% yoy but up significantly by 349.1% qoq, mainly driven by improved gains from the Bank's investment portfolio.

Sustained cost discipline across the Group

Operating expenses amounted to THB 17,042 million, down 2.2% yoy, resulting in a cost-to-income ratio of 41.3%. This reflects sustained cost management discipline through a range of measures, including process efficiency improvements, optimized resource management, expense restructuring aligned with the business environment, and the adoption of artificial intelligence and automation across the workflows of Group companies, amid revenue pressure from the declining interest rate environment.

Targeted customer support alongside robust asset quality

Group companies continued to provide ongoing and targeted assistance to customers through the "Khun Su, Rao Chuay" (You Fight, We Help) program and debt restructuring for customers with recovery potential, alongside proactive asset quality management. The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio stood at 3.17% at the end of the quarter, improving from 3.23% in the previous quarter. Provisions declined 5.3% yoy, while the coverage ratio remained strong at 158.6% and the capital adequacy ratio remained robust at 18.6%.

Arthid Nanthawithaya, Chief Executive Officer of SCBX, commented:

"In the second quarter of 2026, the Thai economy continued to face pressure from an uncertain macroeconomic environment, with an uneven recovery and household debt remaining at elevated levels. Against this backdrop, SCBX has remained committed to quality growth across the Group. The strong growth of our wealth management business reflects our customers' confidence and the success of elevating our services with technology and artificial intelligence. We believe that supporting our customers and business operators through this challenging period is part of helping the country's economy recover on a sustainable basis.

As for BankX Public Company Limited — another strategic step for the Group in extending our accumulated technology and AI capabilities into a new business — we are preparing across all dimensions, with the highest priority placed on system stability and customer experience. BankX will embed AI across its operations, from infrastructure to core processes, products, and customer engagement, in order to deliver personalized services and support broader financial inclusion, which will in turn help drive the sustainable growth of the Thai economy."
