Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation Continues Community Forest Restoration for the 9th Consecutive Year

Mr. Toshimitsu Ito, Chief Representative Asia-Pacific Region of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation stated, "Over the past 9 years, we have witnessed tangible improvements in community forests resulting from the collaborative efforts of government agencies, local communities, and employee volunteers from the Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in Thailand. Together, they have consistently contributed to the conservation and restoration ofnatural resources. This commitment to taking action and working together for the benefit of society aligns closely with Mitsubishi Electric's new corporate philosophy, which emphasizes the core values 'Be bold, Co-Create and With integrity' We believe that environmental stewardship is a long-term responsibility that requires consistent action. We hope that the cooperation fostered over the years will continue to benefit both communities and the environment while preserving rich natural resources for future generations."

During the event, executives and employee volunteers planted more than 3,000 native trees, including Yang Na (Dipterocarpus alatus), Teak, Payom (Shorea roxburghii), Ban Yor (Morinda coreia), and large Tamarind trees. The tree planting activities were carried out across 30 rai of community forest landand was complemented by various conservation activities conducted with local communities. These efforts aim to enhance ecosystem health, promote biodiversity, and sustainably expand green spaces.

Over the nine years of implementing the "Community Forest Partnership for Climate Action Project", the Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation and Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in Thailand have worked closely with the Royal Forest Department and the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) to restore natural resources in a concrete and measurable way. The initiative has generated significant environmental and community benefits, restoring more than 150 rai of community forest, planting a cumulative total of 25,000 trees, helping mitigate global warming, revitalizing ecosystems, and generating meaningful benefits for local communities.

Mrs. Parichart Charoenkrung, Director of the Community Forest Network Partnership Division, Community Forest Management Bureau, Royal Forest Department, added, "The Royal Forest Department is delighted that the private sector, represented by the Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation, has continuously supported community forest development for the ninth consecutive year. The sustainable conservation, restoration, and management of community forests require cooperation from all sectors. Ban Nong Khro Community Forest serves not only as a valuable resource that supports local livelihoods through food security and grassroots economic activities, but also plays an important role in advancing the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model and maintaining ecological balance. This community forest will serve as a model for sustainable conservation and will continue to be a valuablenatural heritage for future generations."
