Synopsys Aims to Advance Semiconductor Development in Vietnam

MoU Between Authority of Information Technology and Communications Industry of Vietnam and Synopsys Supports Development of Semiconductor Industry

Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNPS) today announced its collaboration with the Authority of ICT Industry of Vietnam (AICTI), under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), to advance semiconductor development in Vietnam. As part of the collaboration, Synopsys will also support the AICTI's plans to establish a Vietnam semiconductor research institute.

The AICTI is building a strategic plan for the development of semiconductors in Hanoi, Vietnam, which includes Synopsys advanced technologies in prototyping and emulation for optimizing software and hardware SoC co-designs. The collaboration aims to establish a R&D fabrication and high-end emulation center, cultivate advanced IC design start-ups, and facilitate R&D fabrication production capabilities in Vietnam.

Synopsys will work closely with the AICTI, MIC to help further Vietnam's semiconductor leadership in the region."  

A signing ceremony was observed by his excellency Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam; his excellency Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of the Ministry of Information and Communications; and other Vietnamese leaders in the Vietnamese delegation during a visit to the Synopsys headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif. During the ceremony, Dr. Robert Li, Synopsys Sales Vice President of Taiwan and South Asia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 18, 2023 with Dr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Director of AICTI, MIC. Mr. Joachim Kunkel, General Manager of the Synopsys Solutions Group, Corporate Staff, and other Synopsys executives also participated in the ceremony.
