Advancing Green Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Innovation to Develop a Low-Carbon University and Elevate Eco-Friendly Coffee Shops

Collaborative Effort: Bangchak Group and King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) Drive Forward Green Technology

Bangchak Group signed a memorandum of understanding for academic collaboration to drive green energy technology with King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok. Chokchai Atsawarangsalit, Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Management and Organization Development, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, Chatchai Loybundit, Executive Vice President of Investment, BCPG Public Company Limited, Visnu Vongsumitr, Managing Director, Bangchak Retail Company Limited, on behalf of Bangchak Group, and Professor Dr. Suchart Siengchin, President (KMUTNB) jointly signed the memorandum at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok.

The objective of this memorandum is to foster collaboration in academia and green energy technology through innovation, artificial intelligence, and the enhancement of operational efficiency and quality workforce in both organizations.

Chokchai Atsawarangsalit, Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Management and Organization Development, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited stated Bangchak is pleased to support King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok in its pursuit of becoming a sustainable green university through this collaboration. Bangchak will leverage its strengths as a leader in energy transition, maintaining its commitment to sustainable and innovative business development in harmony with the environment and society, in combination with the strengths of KMUTNB, a prominent educational institution known for science, technology and innovation. Together, we will undertake various projects aimed at fostering academic development, research, and innovation, as well as develop the curriculum program in green energy, artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation, emphasizing real-world applications. This collaboration will also provide support for student projects with startup potential, in partnership with KMUTNB.

Bangchak will offer opportunities for KMUTNB representatives and students to participate in internships at Bangchak Corporation, allowing them to gain valuable professional experience from working in the industrial or corporate setting. This collaboration will result in beneficial activities and projects, aligning with Bangchak's intention to supporting the development of youth capacity. BCPG will conduct studies to assess the capacity, technique, and approaches necessary to adapt green energy solutions, including solar power systems, energy storage systems, and SMART energy management systems to meet KMUTNB's energy requirements. BCPG will also consider becoming an investor for the development, design, construction, installation, ownership, management, and maintenance of energy generation and distribution system for all three KMUTNB campuses (Bangkok, Rayong, and Prachin Buri) with the goal of developing KMUTNB into a low-carbon university.

Inthanin, the environmentally friendly "Green Coffee Shop," will open a second branch at KMUTNB through its cooperation. The new branch will incorporate modern technologies and innovation into its design, aiming to be more than a coffee shop. It will emphasize energy efficiency and provide a space for KMUTNB students to experiment with scientific and technological concepts for commercial purposes. Dubbed "Career Life and Design Center: Inthanin X KMUTNB," it will contribute to research for business applications.

Professor Dr. Suchart Siengchin, President of King Mongkut University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) stated that KMUTNB is committed to developing into a sustainably green university. Its mission is to produce desirable graduates, conduct and contribute to academic research and development for the betterment of society, and foster social and environmental responsibility, along with energy awareness, guided by the values of a Green University. This mission will be achievable through collaboration with Bangchak Group, which has always driven sustainable innovation and will facilitate tangible exchanges for the mutual benefit of both organizations and the country's industrial sector.
