Honda Wins Four Safety Standards Awards at ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards 2024 led by Honda CR-V and Honda Civic

Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has always placed the highest importance on road safety as well as striving to deliver customers quality automobiles that meet the highest safety standards. The company just won four safety awards at the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia) Grand Prix Awards 2024, which reinforces that every vehicle Honda produces is built to high safety standards. Among the awards Honda won were two Excellence Awards—the first for Consistent 5-Star Ratings Across All Models 2021-2023 and the second for the Most 5-Star Ratings 2021-2023. Honda also received awards for the Best Safety Performance in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) for the Honda CR-V and the Excellence Award for Best Sedan for the Honda Civic. This success reflects Honda's dedication to delivering quality vehicles that offer advanced safety technology and raising automotive safety standards in the ASEAN region. It aligns with Honda's goal of realizing zero traffic collision fatalities for all road users involving Honda automobiles and motorcycles globally by 2050 (Honda Target 2050).

The four ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards 2024 that Honda received are:

• Two Excellence Safety Awards for an Automotive Brand:
  • Consistent 5-Star Ratings Across All Models (2021-2023) as the automotive brand that has continuously maintained the highest safety standard of 5 stars across all models during 2021 to 2023. Even with stricter requirements implemented under the ASEAN NCAP Roadmap 2021-2025, Honda cars were still able to win this award.
  • The Most 5-Star Ratings (2021-2023) as the automotive brand with the highest number of vehicles that received the highest safety rating of 5 stars during 2021 to 2023.
• Best Safety Performance in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): The 6th Generation Honda CR-V received this award after achieving the highest overall score in the test. The model tested is the CR-V produced and sold in Thailand, which recently received a 5-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP 2023 test.
• Excellence Award for Best Sedan: The 11th generation Honda Civic received this award based on its overall safety score, which includes assessments across various categories. The Honda Civic achieved the highest overall score in the sedan segment.

The ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia) Grand Prix Awards 2024 is a biannual event that is held with the objective of commemorating the highest achievements of automobile manufacturers while promoting road safety standards and supporting the production of cars with enhanced safety technology in the ASEAN region.
